WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

Welcome and check in attendees to our tree walks, presentations, or workshops; help us lead creative activities at our tabling events. All weather opportunities for sitting, low physical labor, year-round. Ages 16+.

Assist at fundraising events as well as by helping us spread the word about a campaign. All weather, sitting, standing, walking, actively listening and talking, low physical labor, year-round. Ages 16+.

Active outreach to a language group, listening, translating, interpreting, informing, consulting, and conversing about our programs in your language and English. Locations include: farmers markets, museums, libraries, or parks. All weather, sitting, standing, walking, actively listening and talking, low physical labor, year-round. Age 16+.

Tree Stewards are trained to connect their neighbors with resources to trees and tree health. Tree Captains are trained to lead small groups of volunteers in planting trees with TTF. Free, 1-day trainings for volunteers who want to build skills and contribute more to the growth of the urban forest. All weather, active listening and talking, accommodations for physical labor, year round. Ages 18+

Join a small team led by a trained Tree Captain to plant large trees in parks or residential properties. All weather, heavy lifting, digging, high physical labor, spring and fall only. All Ages.

Plant small trees into pots, weed/maintain nursery sites and planting tools. All weather, opportunities for sitting, lower physical labor, held at one location, spring and summer only. All Ages.

Support the TTF team in guiding residents in choosing the right tree for their property. Outdoor customer service, spring and fall only. Ages 18+.

We love creating relationships with our volunteers! Our volunteers are residents who care about their neighbors and the environment, hardworking residents of all ages who share their free time with us, and always show up smiling—no matter the weather! Every milestone we have reached as a foundation is due to the countless hours and unmeasurable support we receive from people who share our vision for a greener, more connected Tacoma and Pierce County. Without people like you who care about making change today for a healthier tomorrow, we could not reach our tree equity and community support goals!
